Chinmaya Vidyalaya is a "school with a difference" where education has been defined in the wildest context as visualized through the teaching of revered Poojya Gurudev - The sanctity of learning and the sacredness of the guru-shishya parampara of the Vedic ages provide models for inspiration. Gandhiji's emphasis on the integration of the intellectual, physical, moral and spiritual development of the learners as the ultimate aim of education and the role of the curriculum as a vehicle for attaining this ideal, merge with this definition of education. It is on these time tested principles of education that the distinctive frame work of Chinmaya Vidyalayas has been built. At the same time doors have not been closed to the sweeping significant changes that are happening all around.

The winds of change flow through our corridors enterning our activities and determining our programmes. We are always aware of the impressionable minds of the learners and the challenges they have to face outside. It makes us conscious of our responsibilites in strenghtening these minds to act in the right direction and in equipping the learners with the capability and confidence to be useful citizens of tomorrow. These are daunting tasks and we have throughout the year been engaged in fulfulling them through regular disciplined teaching and charting out special supportive and enriching programmes for teachers and students.

A number of important programmes have been organized in the course of the academic year. The Chinmaya Parichaya provided orientation to teachers on the disctinctive characteristics of Chinmaya Schools to enable them to understand and appreciate the concept of the Chinmaya School as a "school with a difference". The main thrust was on discussing the important values and exploring different ways to impart them to the students.

Communication skills, particularly in English, have become very important in the context of rapid advances in Science and Technology. Spoken English classes are being organized by our schools for teachers conducted by expert professionals in the field. The cascade model of teaching has been adopted wherein a group of resource persons from among the teachers are identified and delegated with the job of passing on the expertise.

Chinmaya Vidyalayas have provided special opportunities for spiritual development of students. Sanskrit learning has been emphasized in the school and further encourages through participation in programmes organized by other organizations.
